Convenient, quick "Silver Line" joins The "T"
North America's first Subway system was built right here in Boston. It used to be known as the Metropolitan Transit Authority, but today it's the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority -- better known as the "T." This remarkable transit system connects all of Boston and its suburbs by subway, standard rail, bus and commuter boat, making it easy and inexpensive for attendees to navigate the city. And now it's easier than ever, compliments of The Silver Line -- Boston's newest and most modern subway connection. The Silver Line speeds riders directly to the BCEC from Logan International Airport and from downtown. It provides service every 10 minutes during the weekday and every 15 minutes during the weekend, operating from all Logan terminals to the South Boston Waterfront District, where the BCEC is located. Here's what Willie Benjamin, Assistant Director of Meetings for the American Chemical Society, said about his attendees' experience on the Silver Line: "We had 15,000 people in Boston and about 25% of them rode the Silver Line. They came from everywhere -- mostly major cities -- and they were telling me they loved it. And that included our international attendees." For more on the T go to www.mbta.com. |
