Community Outreach
We make it a priority through a number of initiatives to support local businesses and partner with local non-profit organizations in support of education and the arts.
Arts Program
The BCEC and the Hynes offer a rotating schedule of contemporary art exhibitions to enhance the public spaces in our facilities. Our Arts Program embraces the creative talents of Massachusetts' artists, from experienced professionals to emerging young artists, with exhibits thoughtfully designed to engage viewers from all walks of life.

Local and Equal-Opportunity Vendor Engagement
We proudly support Boston's diverse population and local businesses through a variety of community-based initiatives:
- Our vendor contracts require a percentage of construction and design contracts go to minority and women-owned business enterprises
- Our Dining in the Neighborhood Trolley program brings attendees to visit local restaurants, giving visitors the opportunity to experience an authentic local neighborhood and its rich history
- Levy Restaurants, the exclusive food and beverage provider for both the BCEC and the Hynes, is committed to make 50% of its purchases locally
Annual Events
We participate in a number of charitable events, such as the MLK Breakfast that celebrates the legacy of Martin Luther King who lived and studied in Boston, the Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration for people who are HIV positive, the Big Brother Big Sister annual fundraiser, and the Project Bread Walk for Hunger.
